Our history

The vision
Felix Simon & Heinz-Erik Decker. We are the two friends with the vision for L'HV. We have long shared a passion for the good things in life, the need to question the status quo - and the fascination for absinthe. Together we wanted to bring both the unique taste and the influence that this historic spirit had on an entire generation of artists, writers and free spirits into the present. True to our conviction: it is time for a new era.

The RECIPE
Vasco Warth is the man who turned our vision into reality. The qualified beverage technician with a particular passion for wine, spirits and ambitious projects immediately understood what we wanted to express - and shared our enthusiasm. In close collaboration with him, the recipe for L'HV took more and more concrete shape until today it describes exactly the absinthe that we have had in our minds for so long.

The BOTANICALS
Eva-Maria Walle is the first point of contact for high-quality and sustainable botanicals in Germany. On her own arable land on Lake Constance, she grows a wide variety of medicinal, spice and medicinal plants strictly by hand - and in addition to the highest quality, she also pays attention to a particularly environmentally friendly and soil-friendly process. L'HV owes its incomparable intensity to their passion and expertise.

The processing
Mario Vallendar is responsible for ensuring that our complex recipe and hand-picked ingredients ultimately become an incomparable absinthe. The award-winning distiller, who learned the craft from his father and is now the third generation to run the family factory, was passionate about our project from the start. With his eye for detail and his uncompromising quality standards, he ensures that every bottle of L'HV is a masterpiece.

The artist
Anna Bu Kliewer is the German-Ukrainian artist to whom we owe the distinctive design of L'HV. Her art combines an irrepressible curiosity for alternative realities with the ever-present question about her own identity, to which she always seeks answers in a surreal context. As an internationally known and successful artist, she also lives our claim to question old structures and continually create something new.
